Default mailto Hyperlink in MailMerge

I've looked around quite a bit and although I've found references on how to add a standard hyperlink via MailMerge, I've been unable to locate information about the correct way to set up a functioning mailto link. (or at least one the behaves as I want it to behave)

I thought that the correct syntax was:

{ HYPERLINK "mailto: «Invite_Email»" }

... but that isn't working correctly.

I'm hoping for a hyperlinked e-mail address in the output file so that viewers will be able to click it and have their e-mail client open automatically.

Any ideas?

The same e-mail address (the first in my list) is showing up for every record.

And in the output file, when I click on the link (even though it's incorrect), the TO field in my mail client is blank.

hi Rob,

You can't have personalised email addresses showing as the hypelink text for each recipient, so you need to:
• insert an ordinary hyperlink into the document, with some standard text, like 'Click Here'; then
• select the field, press Shift-F9 and edit the filed code by deleting everything after 'HYPERLINK' and inserting your mergefield, so that you end up with {HYPERLINK "«Invite_Email»"}.
I'm not sure whether you need the 'mailto:'. You might try the merge without it and see if that works.
