Word Mailmerge wont print

I have a single A4 Page Letter done in Word with fields at the top left hand corner for name/address to suit a window envelope.

I mailmerge these from either an Access Database or Excel Spreadsheet and save the file.

I always have the same problem.

When I then go to open the merged file containing all the letters they appear 100% on the screen but if I try to print any one or a few in the middle of the batch it does not work.

The latest batch had 511 records so 511 A4 pages and I wasnted to print Page 209 on its own but clicking print nothing happened.

On the tool bar at the bottom of the screen the spelchecker icon continually is moving. When I checked it took 5 hours to spell check these 511 letters.

Two questions why is it spell checking them again as the file had been saved and opened.

Why is it spell checking them when the original letter template was spell checked and the only addition to the individual letters is the name/addresses which I do not want to spell check.

Hi aovc,

Word's spell-checker is running because the mailmerge output's spelling hasn't been checked. You could over come that by setting the mailmerge main document's text to 'no proofing'. After all, there shouldn't be any typos remaining by the time you execute the mailmerge. That should carry through to the output document.

I'd also suggest breaking the mailmerges into sets of 100 records or so. That way, the performace for each document will be better.
