Mail Merge won't email
Hello,
- outlook is set as the default mailer and that goes - I follow the word mail merge wizard and the doc looks OK (I've used this before to merge to email and to a printer) - When I do the final merge, she steps through without any errors but nothing is sent and nothing is in the Outlook as sent or pending Any ideas?? Mail Merge won't email
Hi Paul,
No such luck, I'm still suck. I don't think the trouble is with outlook though - it seems as if once the mail merge is all done in word nothing happens -- it doesn't go to an outbox or something Thanks for getting back to me, Dave |

Hi Dave,
Some other things to check/try: a. Is Outlook the default Mail program (IE Tools|Internet Options|Programs)? b. Check Outlook Tools|Options|Other|"Advanced options"|"Enable mail logging (troubleshooting)". Then restart. c. If you have a COM Addin called bxAutoZip (see Outlook Tools|Options|Other|"Advanced Options"|"COM Addins") disable it temporarily. d. Find Outlook's .pst file, make a backup copy, then run the SCANPST.EXE utility. e. Ensure you only have one mail profile (Control Panel|Mail|Show Profiles) f. Recreate your Outlook profile. g. If you're trying to send the emails as HTML, try send them as plain text instead.

Hello,
I tried the steps below, and I re-installed office Pro 2010 but no luck. Things may have moved fwd in that after finishing the merge to email (in text format) the hourglass (win7) spins for a bit but nothing shows at the destination account or the outlook Sent or Out box. Perhaps the worst part is that I remember similar grief when I tried this last time, mind you that was nine years ago. Somehow I got around it then so if there's any other ideas I'm all ears. Thanks for your help - much appreciated DC Some other things to check/try: a. Is Outlook the default Mail program (IE Tools|Internet Options|Programs)? b. Well, I got it this far ...
- disabled virus protection (Esat) - it'll send plain text - it fails on HTML or as an attachment A work-in-progress I guess |

Hi Dave,
See if anything here helps: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/288836 I'd also suggest checking your anti-virus configuration - including that it's working properly.

Hi Dave,
Here's something I've come across that may apply to your situation: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980681

I had this problem and solved it by changing HKLM\Software\Clients\Mail - Default to be "Microsoft Outlook" instead of "Windows Mail".
Even though HKCU\Software\Clients\Mail - Default said "Microsoft Outlook", I could not email mail merged documents as HTML unless I changed the HKLM key. Might help others. |

may i know what is HKLM?

HKLM is a Windows Registry Key abbreviation of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. I don't recommend using that approach as it is liable to have other effects that may be undesirable. I suggest you start a new thread setting out what you're trying to do and what issues you're having.
