Mail Merge - Conditional Statements
Hi,
Is it possible in a mailmerge to set up a conditional statement where a monetary figure is quoted but would be different for each person. for example if Joe Bloggs received a car allowance, it would show in Column C of the excel data sheet as Yes or No and Column D would have a monetary value of GBPX to denote the car allowance amount. The wording might be for example " You shall receive a car allowance of GBPX (insert figure from Column D) per month" Michael Grant for example might also receive a car allowance but with a different amount. Edward House would not receive a car allowance and therefore the sentence wouldn't be required at all. Can anyone advise? thanks in advance |

That's fairly straightforward
{IF {MERGEFIELD Allowance } = "Yes" " You shall receive a car allowance of GBP { MERGEFIELD Amount } per month." } Replace the fieldnames with the fieldnames from your data source. All bracket pairs are inserted with CTRL+F9 or see Import and export field constructions as text
