Default Problem: MailMerge Letter with Some Blank Fields
Hello.


I have an Excel spreadsheet populated with text, numbers, dates etc.
I have settings adjusted to check conversion on opening, and choose DDE.
I have one particular field form the spreadsheet that continues to display the incorrect cell reference previewing results in the MailMerge letter in Ms Word. It seems to be reading from the cell adjacent, one column before in the spreadsheet.
Instead of just moving 1 column over, i'd like to know how to fix this

Without access to the samples úsed it is difficult to ascertain what the issue is caused by, but my guess would be the DDE connection. DDE is notoriously flaky and best avoided. I would start by using the default connection.

Hi Graham - without the DDE connection, the dates display incorrectly. I tried all of the workarounds i could find online for correcting date format, but the only thing that worked was to use the DDE connection, however it threw out another issue.

Use a formatting switch on the date field to achieve the format you require - see Formatting fields with switches
