Mail Merge label that has been split into four sections
Using Word/Excel 365
I have a label (Avery 5866) that I am using in a mail merge. I have split the label into four sections by using the "draw table" function. When I attempt to mail merge, I get the message, "In order to apply the selected label options, Word must delete the current contents of "Label 5866.docx" Is there a workaround for this so I can use this existing document? See attached for both documents. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Karen |

Word can't use what you have for a label merge.
What you could do is delete all except the first cell you modified, format the document as having a two-column page layout, minimise & hide the paragraph following the table, then use a Directory/Catalog merge. See attached. You may yet need to adjust the intra-column spacing.

Thank you so much for your recommendation.
I'm not familiar with directory/catalog merge, but I will research it and get back to you to see if I can figure it out. Thank you! |

Why split the cells? You could simply use a right aligned tab and appropriate paragraph spacing, then merge to labels.
