Is there a way to apply date formatting to a string field? I don't have control of the data source but the string field contains dates. I was wondering if there is a way to cast the type in Word so I can provide the a date switch /@.

If the field actually contains a date (and only a date) a date formatting switch should work even if the field type is text. Without a switch the result should be formatted as in the data source.
