How to skip repetitive lines to unique entries?
Hi,
I have a document where i need to skip repetitive lines until it comes to a unique entry. I'm using an excel sheet and mail merging into a word directory. For example : https://media.publit.io/file/Annotat...-06-085617.png If i have a book series title in one column, and the books in that series in another column. I would like the mail merge to print the book series title out once, and then the entries for the books underneath it. And then only print the next book series title if it's different to the one before. So it would look like this : Book series A Book title 1 lorem ipsum doler sit Book title 2 lorem ipsum doler sit Book title 3 lorem ipsum doler sit Book series B Book title 1, etc Currently it prints the book series for every entry. EDIT: after some more Googling I think what I'm after is a list sorted by category? I'm pretty new to Mail-merge though so I'm not sure if that's correct. Cheers, Tara Last edited by tbdesigns; 07-05-2020 at 08:08 PM. |
