Default Password protect individual files after merge

Hi, Been using the Merge to individual files macro, which is great.

I am a complete novice and was hoping to be able to add password protect option to the individual files either as a Word doc or PDF.

Been searching for some code to add to the macro to do protect files but having no luck

Thank you in advance for your help!

Word cannot apply protection to a PDF.

What kind of protection do you want to apply to the document:
• a password to open?
• a password to edit?
something else?

Both my merge splitting add-ins Individual merge letters. and Merge and Split will merge to PDF and allow you to set a common password (I am working on a version of the former that will allow you to set individual passwords from the merge data source, but it will not be ready for a while).

The process requires the addition of (free) third party software PDFCreator 2.5.2 which is also linked from the web page. Anecdotal evidence suggests that it will also work with the more recent and more bloated version of the PDFCreator software, but I haven't tested it and recommend instead the version 2.5.2.

Simply change:
Code:
.SaveAs FileName:=StrFolder & StrName & ".docx", FileFormat:=wdFormatXMLDocument, AddToRecentFiles:=False
to:
Code:
.SaveAs FileName:=StrFolder & StrName & ".docx", FileFormat:=wdFormatXMLDocument, Password:="drowssap", AddToRecentFiles:=False
where 'drowssap' is the actual password.
