Default Word Mail Merge Envelope Addresses with Multiple Conditions

I have just joined the forum and I am trying to figure out how to create conditions in the Mail Merge envelope address. I am trying to send letters out using Mail Merge. The data fields are broken up to include: street number, street prefix (E., W., etc.), street name, street type (Rd., ST., BLVD., etc.), apartment number, city, state and zip code. My problem is that no every address has a street prefix, street type or apartment number. The fields for some of these records are blank.

I would like to create a custom address block that includes the basics but adds the additional fields when applicable. including a separate address line for the apartment number when there is one.

I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone has to offer.

Thank you.

Smile Solution for Mail Merge Envelope Addresses with Multiple Conditions

Macropod,

It has taken me a while to go through the material contained in that post, but I did find exactly what I needed. I think that the suppress of the spaces and lines is a better method of dealing with this situation. I did not even know that was an option. Your post contains a wealth of knowledge.

Thanks much!
