Can you combine Rule "Next Record" with Rule "Skip Record if..." in the same instruction? This worked with 2 of the 50 database entries but then the merge process failed. Thanks in advance for your interest and help. Michael

How are you trying to combine them and to what end?

Thanks for your response. I'm trying to cull out records, to be printed in either a table or in a one page list, where the records selected have a "Y" in a cell in column M with the header "2019 Letter Y".

This works:

{SKIPIF{Mergefield M_2019_Letter Y}="" }Mergefield First_Name}
{NEXT }{SKIPIF{Mergefield M_2019_Letter Y}="" }Mergefield First_Name}

This Fails:

{SKIPIF{Mergefield M_2019_Letter Y}="" }Mergefield First_Name}
{NEXT }{SKIPIF{Mergefield M_2019_Letter Y}="" }Mergefield First_Name}
{NEXT }{SKIPIF{Mergefield M_2019_Letter Y}="" }Mergefield First_Name}

The error message is: "Word could not merge the main document with the data source because the data records were empty or no Data records matched your query options." There is no problem with the data source, I've used it successfully for an envelope mail merge.

Thanks for continued help. Michael

So why not use just:
{SKIPIF{Mergefield M_2019_Letter_Y}= ""}
or filter the records?
A Directory/Catalog merge will output the data without page breaks.
