Default Can I populate Merge data on different pages?

I apologize ahead of time for being a novice on mail merge. I need some help in how to use the info on each record to populate different pages in the document. I source file is a spreadsheet with names, addresses, emails, an indicator on their attendance status and two different fields for comments.

I know how to get the fields into the document but am confused how to use the NEXT or NEXTIF or whatever to loop through the data.

One section is a list of people who entered as First time attendees
One section is a list of people who entered as Referred attendees
One section for anyone who entered one of two comment fields

What I working toward is:

Default

I was experimenting with the DATABASE command I have seen in other posts but I keep getting an Error! Cannot open data source.

I even tried the full path name for the excel file because I couldn't get the FILENAME \p /../ to work for me.

Here is what I wrote (goes along with the data source file I posted earlier)

{DATABASE \d "C:\Users\Scott\Desktop\Mail Merge\event-feedback-sample.xlsx" \s " SELECT [first_name], [last_name] WHERE [FAVORITEPART] IS NOT NULL ORDER BY [last_name]" \l "15" \b "49 \h}
