Default Centralise a paragraph on a page

Hi

Someone asked me if this was possible and got me thinking that there probably isn't an easy way to do it, but there ought to be!

The query is to centralise the position of a paragraph on the page. It needs to be left aligned, so just centre justifying the text isn't an option. It also needs to be done in conjunction with a mail merge, so I can't just manually put the paragraph in a text box and move it to the desired place (as I did when creating the graphic below!)

To illustrate with a couple of examples:

In both examples, the paragraph is centred by the length of the longest line, so when Mr Bloggs took on some more partners, his address moved over to the left, keeping an overall centralised appearance.

Anyone got any thoughts on this one?

Thanks for reading!

Default

Insert a single-column table that's centred on the page and ensure neither the table, nor column, nor the cell, has a preferred width. Insert your mergefields into that.

Amazing - it works beautifully!

Nice elegant solution too. I just didn't think of that.

Many thanks!
