Default Template for Photo Directory

Has anyone used Word for a photo and personnel directory? I publish a photo directory for our Sunday school class of 190 people. I have their photo, name, address, cell phone, emails, etc., and some personal information.

I have used MS Publisher but now considering using Word and am looking for a Word template format to pull in this data from Excel. A little cumbersome using MS Pub when adding new members. I currently have two people and information on a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 size. I print the directory once a year and also update throughout year a couple of times as a pdf and email. Looking for any help. Thank you.

If you are going to make a move into Word for this, consider using mailmerge.

Mail merge with Word 2007-2019 (365) by Graham Mayor, MVP

Use an Excel file for your data including pictures.
This will make it much easier to reorganize things.

This is what I found using File> New.

Note the reference to Publisher and PowerPoint templates as well.

Thank you, Charles. I planned on using the mail merge already which is why I moving to Word from Publisher. I was also hoping to find a some kind of template that is ready to use for designing and printing my data. Unfortunately, I believe I will need to develop one myself as I am not finding one. Thanks for your help and I will keep looking for some templates.

Depending on your requirements, you may find that a label merge will do as you want, using one of the many label formats available in Word.

Also, have a read of the articles in the Mailmerge Tips and Tricks 'Sticky' thread at the top of this forum:

Maybe http://www.gmayor.com/photo_gallery_template.html might help?

I see that you have asked essentially the same question regarding PowerPoint, in: https://www.msofficeforums.com/power...directory.html
It would be better if you stuck to one application. Accordingly, please choose your preferred application and post an update in both threads as to which you want to work with.
