Hello,
Fairly novice to Word. I am working with a mail merge doc that I would have reviewed by another party who will not have access to the link and therefore the ODB link will be broken. I want them to review my mail merge fields and I need the fields to be highlighted. When I break the link, highlighting the fields is no longer an option. Is there an easy solution? Any feedback helps. Thank you |

It's not clear what highlighting you mean or how you're breaking the link. Simply saving the mailmerge main document as a normal Word document is enough to break the link to the data source and leave the fields intact. Whether the recipient of your document would then see any field shading depends on how they have Word configured. See under File|options|Advanced>Show Document Content>Field shading.

Thank you macropod. I apologize for my lack of clarity.
Your directions from File-->Field Shading was what I was looking for. Just something to direct readers attention to field values. I am going to mark this as solved. Thank you again. |
