Default Mail Merging Unique QR URLS from Excel to Word

Hello- We are looking to merge QR URLS from Excel to Word on name badges for a large conference. Each QR URL is unique to the person and they use them to scan in to each session at the conference. In the past we used Avery Design and Print software which converted the URL from a weblink to an image when placed into the Avery Design and Print Software. We have designed and changed the size of our badges to a now non-Avery compliant size and we need to figure out a way to just do this directly from Excel to Word.

I have tried

{MERGEBARCODE «URL» QR \h 1 \q L}
{MERGEBARCODE «URL» QR \q 3}

and

{INSERT PICTURE} formulas.

no luck.
