Default Include Table of Contents by Mail Merge Field

Hi, I am working on a mail merge project where I want each page of the document to have this information with some room for notes. A screenshot is below.

I would like to add a Table of Contents to the overall document based on the name field. To do this, I styled the Name fill-in spot as Heading 1 so that it would flow through to the TOC. However, it loses the Heading 1 designation when I pass it through the mail merge. Any ideas on how to overcome this?

How are you applying the Heading 1 Style? When I apply it to a mergefield, the Style s preserved through the merge. Do note, though, that you will lose the Style definition if you've applied it to only part of the paragraph - it must be applied to the entire paragraph. In that regard, if you don't want 'Name:' to be included, that should be in a separate paragraph, which you can then 'merge' with the paragraph containing the mergefield via a Style Separator or by formatting the paragraph break for the 'Name:' paragraph as hidden text.
