Split 1 large microsoft word document into several
I have a mail merge document that contains letters for a big population of students. What we would like to do is be able to split the file into multiple documents without having to go into the document and save off every 3 pages manually. We would also like the file to be named as something in each letter (student name, etc).

There are several utilities (free) to do this. Here are two.

If you still have access to the merge data file from which the document was created, it would be better to split the document as it is merged - see
http://www.gmayor.com/individual_merge_letters.htm or http://www.gmayor.com/MergeAndSplit.htm. The latter also has a utility to split a document that has been merged as a letters merge by the Word mail merge process.

This is not someone who wants to have multiple people work on one document at the same time. It is someone who wants individual files for each person (student). |
