mailmerge using wrong e-mail address
Have been using Word mail merge with Outlook for a long time without problems.
I recently change job, added a new e-mail address to Outlook and started mail merging from this new address. I wanted to keep the previous account for addresses and references. So as an archive so to speak, without using this account to actively send e-mail. Last December I upgraded to Windows 10 and lost Outlook completely. The easiest way was to re-install Outlook . I managed to get it all up and running again, including the mail merge feature. Yesterday I added my old e-mail account again and to my surprise mail merge is suddenly using this old (unused) e-mail address! I had these addresses in Outlook before and it always used the correct e-mail address. Now it is using my old address which I do not want. I am reading possible solutions by adding a new profile but in that case I do not have the old and new account in Outlook. It has worked for months with all my accounts in one profile. Is there any way to fix the correct e-mail address for mail merge, even with more e-mail addresses in my outlook profile? |

Mailmerges use whatever is your default email address. Evidently, therefore, in restoring your old email account you made it the default. Simply changing the default Outlook account should resolve the issue.

Thank you for your reply but the correct e-mail is already set als default but still mail merge sends from the old address.

Perhaps you could re-confirm that the email account you wish to send from is as the default in your Outlook account. You can do this by going to File|Account Settings|Account Settings>Email - a check mark will appear next to the default account account.
You might also go to File|Options|Mail>Send messages and make sure that the "Always Use the Default Email to Send Messages" is checked. Outlook should now use the default email account as the sending email address on a mailmerge. If that doesn't work, you may need to create a separate Outlook profile with only the account you wish to send from and launch Outlook with that profile. To create such a profile: 1) Open the Windows Control Panel, then go to User Accounts>Mail>Show Profiles. 2) Click 'Add' to create another profile. A dialogue box will apears with panes for you to input input the name & address parameters for the email address to be used. When you've done that, click on 'Next' and follow the prompts. 3) Click on 'Prompt for a profile to be used'. 4) When you have added the other alias into Outlook and click OK. 5) Close and re-start Outlook, choosing the profile you've created for the mailmerge. See https://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm for more details on profile creation.
