Default Updating mail merge data

Hi

I have finally got to grips with doing mailing labels mail merge on my word 2013. However when I try to add new recipients into the data the boxes for edit and refresh are not functioning.

Any help gratefully received

Jay

I'd suggest closing the mailmerge main document and adding the new data directly to the data source.

Oooops will not let me. If I try to close the word doc the data file just flashes and stays put. I cannot open the contacts file independently. The data programme that word selects is an MDB file

Could the word programme be at fault. ???

An mdb file would be an Access database that you would need Access to open & edit.
