forlino is on a distinguished road
Default "Send to" mail recipient

Can someone possibly help me? I just got new PC (HP Compaq 6000 NV470UT) with IE8 and XP Pro and I've loaded MS Word 2003 (Office 2007 has been removed). On my old PC I've always been able to go (via Windows Explorer) to a normal Word doc, right-click on it, and "SEND TO" a mail recipient, and it'll just bring up a blank e-mail page for me (on my Outlook Express). I can also do this at work on my Dell PC (IE7, Office 2003). But on the new PC this doesn't work: When I select Mail Recipient, it said something about "No profile has been created..." so I created one (I'm trying to remember how -- I think I just followed the instructions) and can view this info in the "MAIL" folder in Control Panel. But still I can't bring up a new e-mail message page... When I select SEND TO, and Mail Recipient, it says "Choose Profile". Underneath that it says Profile Name, and in the box I see my profile name (with a drop-down arrow), and to the right of that there's a box that says "NEW". Underneath all that it says: OK, Cancel, and Options.
I know I can simply send a new e-mail and include an attachment --- that works fine. But it's so nice and fast to be able to right-click on a listed document and "send to" and have an e-mail page come up and just type an address on the "TO" line and so forth.

Does anyone have ANY idea why this won't work? I would think that even in IE8 it would work.
I like IE 6 and 7 much better and I wish somehow I could switch to IE7 but I'm afraid to do that (someone told me that XP is sort of "part of" the browser now and I don't want to screw anything up or have anything get wiped out).

Thanks for any advice.
