Allignment of numbers with parentheses
We have a process where we mail merge numbers from a data source into a Word doc. We would like to have negative numbers in parentheses and have the far right digit before the parentheses line up with the last digit of a positive number above it. Right now, the far right bracket will only align with the far right digit above it, so it makes the alignment of the numbers on the right look uneven.
Current: 1,234,567 (890,123) Desired format: 1,234,567 ' (890,123) Ignore apostrophe but I needed to add this in so I could get it to present properly for the purposes of this post. Anyone know how to fix this? |

If you right-align the paragraph containing the mergefield, you could use a field switch coded as:
\# ",0')';(,0)" In your mergefield, it would look like: {MERGEFIELD MyNumber \# ",0')';(,0)"} The trick is to format the ) in ')' with a colour the same as your page background.
