We use mail merge with an Excel file and the fields in the first row. It works fine with 59 columns in 2000 but in 2007 it stops at field 57 and inquires whether to "delete the field from the master".
I know work arounds like reprogramming a working system but that seems too severe. Has anyone else had this typr of problem? |

Are you able to reproduce this with a new "test Data Excel Spreadsheet"? The reason I ask is that I've tried several Excel Spreadsheets that have 57 - 90 fields - and none of them are erroring out for me in Word....
Thanks, |

What we finally discovered was that the assumptions as to data format were incorrent. In Word options, advanced, you must have it checked to confirm using the converter on the last page. Then it works fine.
Thank you, |

I had noticed that and was curious, although unchecking that didn't seem to have an effect for me - glad to hear it fixed you though!
