Hi,
I wonder if anyone can offer any advice with this. I have a word doc with merge fields. Some of the fields are conditional {IF {MERGEFIELD xxx}="this" "do this" "do that"}. Normal merge fields show wrapped in chevrons (<<fieldName>>) and selecting the "Highlight Merge Fields" option will highlight them within the document as you might expect. The conditional merge fields however always appear as normal, empty areas, regardless of "Highlight Merge Fields". So it's bascially impossible to tell at a glance, which fields have conditioanal merges within them. Pressing ALT + F9 shows the code (which you might use during develpment I guess), but otherwise a user has no idea what to expect from the other fields. My question is therefore...Is there a way to show that these conditional fields are in fact linked to data? I'm a newbie with this, so apologies if I'm missing something obvious! Many thanks, MRB |
