Default Mail Merge Calculation Error

I am working on a mail merge that has two fields that are percentages. Instead of showing as 3.75%, it shows as 3.744444444444444444444444E-2 or whatever.

I used this to try to correct it and have spaced it and formatted it about 20 different ways and it still does not seem to work, what am i doing wrong?
{= {«Proposed_Merit_Increase_»} * 100 \# “0% ”}

Default Mail Merge

Make sure that the field is already rounded in the Excel or Access file.
