Exclamation Mail merge issues not covered in long post

I am doing a mail merge of a 2-page letter, where the graphics elements have been inserted behind the text and locked. The document is an awards notice for a university and contains many fields, some with variable amounts of text.

My issue came up when I did a preview and noticed that the name and amounts which should have come up name...amount... amount, came up vertically stacked...

Most of the columns worked, but they have supplied a CSV file and I cannot see what is actually supposed to go where...so I have no way to check...

How do I insure that a multiple line variable, will print out the numbers that correspond to it correctly?

Did this make sense?

Without seeing both the mailmerge main document and some representative date, it impossible to diagnose the issue. Can you attach your mailmerge main document and some representative data to a post (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.

Default Here are the 2 docs

I've attached the 2 documents when I tested by exporting to a pdf, you can see that under the gift, all the numbers starting stacking. I noticed in the csv file that a few categories had multiple entries. I'm wondering if this is the issue as they clumped a lot of the gifts under this one field.

Your help is sincerely and most graciously appreciated.
Donna

The core issue is that, for your data source's data structure to work, your mailmerge main document needs to use tables for the tabulated data. See attached.

Default OMG thank you

Paul, you have saved my life with this... I was under the gun and have never used any table type formats in word for merge... Thank you so much.!!!
