MM with Word 2010, Outlook 2003, Win 7
Has anyone successfully been able to get mail merge (e-mail) to work using Word 2010, Outlook 2003 on Win 7 (64)? If you have been able to get it to work, can you help me understand how? I am trying to send a series of e-mails and have not had success. When I "Send E-mail Messages" the records spin through, but no e-mails are sent. None in the "Outbox," none in the "Sent" folder, none in the "Inbox." ? Mail merge print works fine, so I am guessing there is a problem with Word 2010 working with Outlook 2003. ? Any help or resources would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim,
Is your mailmerge configured to use your address book, or email addresses from the data source itself?

Paul, Thanks for your reply. To answer your question: My mailmerge is configured to use the data source. Good news though. I got it to work. First, I updated Outlook from 2003 to 2010. That change in itself did not correct the problem. A pop-up window in 2003 and 2010 said, "To correct a problem with the fax configuration, review the configuration settings for your fax software and make the appropriate changes." I went to Control Panel | Devices and Printers | Fax | Tools | Fax Settings | General, and checked the boxes for allowing the device to send and receive fax calls. Now, beats me how the fax settings affect the mailmerge, but it worked! I can now send e-mails by mm. The only question I have (rhetorically at this point) is, would it have worked in 2003? Thanks again for your reply.

Hi Tim,
In all likelihood, the same configuration settings would have resolved your Outlook 2003 issues. That said, you can't run both Outlook 2003 & Outlook 2010 on the same system.
