Adding sequential Number in a document that already has merged fields inserted
Hi All
I need some help if at all possible. I have created a document and inserted the merged fields that I require from a data source (excel spreadsheet). One of the merged fields is a class number (ABCD1234). I would like for the system to add a hyphen and a sequential number (-1,-2, -3 etc) following the class number once the document is merged. Just to explain why. I have a locally produced certificate which needs a unique reference number at the bottom. In order to give the certificates a unique number it is my intention to use the class number (ABCD1234) followed by hyphen 1 (-1) and so on. The outcome would be for the unique number to look like this: ABCD1234-1 ABCD1234-2 ABCD1234-3 Etc Any help would be greatly appreciated. G |

All you need do is insert the class number followed by a hyphen then a MERGESEQ or MERGEREC field.

You also asked about this in another thread: https://www.msofficeforums.com/excel...l-numbers.html
Please don't ask what is essentially the same question in multiple threads.
