Default Group Category Mail Merge

Dear Sir,

Hi - I need to create a mail merge template that groups items from one column in the source data (xls) and returns a list of records to that category (which is a person).

The methodology is likely going to be this, but I can't figure it out.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/294686

Sir, I am asking second time this kind of mail merge as I am unable to understand the working of this code. I have copied, pasted and edited this code as per my requirements but it is not working for me.

Please guide me as how this code work for my custom file?

Kind Regards

Shehbaz H.

I have previously given you links to my tutorial, which includes fully-working field code examples for this. I suggest you read it and adapt the code to your needs.

Dear Sir,

Hi

You always guide me in different crucial times. I need to know the explaination of merge field codes. Please guide me about the Set Place="1" and {if{Place2}<>{Place1}"

as what is the meaning of Place 1 and 2 and what is the condition say and what is the meaning of commas. Please let me know Sir. Moreover, at the start of this code the word "Quots" is also used what is the purpose of this keyword?

Kind Regards

The tutorial does not use those fields - they are from Microsoft's example. The field coding in the tutorial is superior - I suggest you use that. The tutorial also explains the field coding...

Sir, I have checked your tutorial. The data fields and not showing on right places and scattered from the margin as I have left aligned each field.

Please view the result and guide accordingly: http://prntscr.com/986s1p

Those problems have nothing to do with mailmerge as such - it is entirely a matter of how you have formatted your document, specifically regarding tab-stops. If you had copied the field coding with the paragraph break of the paragraph they're attached to, you would obtain the same layout as in the tutorial.

I am not interested in supporting the Microsoft Code. I am content to support my own, superior, code. You also give yourself less chance of solving your problem if you keep switching between methods without focussing on just one and understanding how it works.

http://prntscr.com/98756k

I can not understand it; i need to get the concept so that i could configure my own documents. This only shows <<representative>> <<sale>> and nothing else. Please see

http://prntscr.com/9875pm
here is the output:
http://prntscr.com/9875tf

Please guide how should configure example no.2

I need to mention here that I have successfully formatted example no.1 and have no issue about it.

Sir, with due respect I am sorry to say that your tutorial is beyond my insight. Can you please guide me about the Microsoft Code which I request earlier showing no result. I shall be highly thankful to you. If I am unable to understand a thing then what should I do. It is my fault to understand but I want to do my assignment at any cost. Please help me Sir.
