Mail Merge pop up to Add Date is ruining my life. 12000 letters = 12000 enters. Help!
I'm sure I'm just overlooking something completely simple on this really easy mail merge. I'm merging 12000 names and addresses into a letter going out at work and it all works beautifully until I click finish merge and it pops up prompting me to enter the date. So I do. And it merges one letter then prompts me for the next...so I'd have to do this on all 12000. HELP! What do I need to do? I already changed to a letter form that inclues a 'choose the date' macro and it didn't help. |

Since mailmerge, per se, has no 'add date' pop-up, I can only conclude you're using something that's non-standard. Without knowing what that is, it's impossible to give any particular advice.

This presumably results from how you inserted the date, with a field that prompts for the date. Use a CreateDate field with a formatting switch instead. e.g. { CREATEDATE \@ "MM/dd/yyyy" } or wrap a Date field in a Quote field - { QUOTE { DATE } }
Either field will convert to text when merged.

Hi Paul - Good point about CREATEDATE, it would only work on the day the merge document was created, or if the merge document was stored as a template and new documents were created from it.
