![]() Using mail-merge I can create and send individualised emails to addresses on a recipient list. To create the list I have to type in all the details manually. I have a windows folder containg a series of .txt files of details of people I would like to email. Is it possible to populate the mail-merge recipient list directly from these files? I'd be happy to write a simple program (eg in visual basic) to do the conversion if I knew the structure of the recipient list. |

A mail merge data file can have any format you wish. Ideally you would create an Excel worksheet with the data you require in columns with a header row. If you can get your text files into a worksheet in a common layout you should be good to go.
Without any information about the format of the text files, it is impossible to advise further.

Thanks. I can create a .csv file and feed that into an excel spreadsheet so it looks like a complete solution.
