Migrating Mail Merge Data Source
I'm migrating database used by mail merge templates from one server to another.
To my knowledge, I have to re-run mail merge wizard to configure the data source to access the new server. Is this the right way to do the work? No original odc files are available. I created odc file through mail merge wizard. But seems during run time, the odc file is not required when Word documents are generated using the mail merge template document. There's no problem even the odc file is deleted. Is this correct? James |

Yes, you will need to re-connect the mailmerge main documents to the data sources after the migration. Your odc files, whatever they are, have nothing to do with that. Word mailmerge files normally use the doc or docx formats.
