Default Mail merge into table with two colums and several rows

Hi,

I have a text in several languages and want to show Language1 in the left column and Language2 in the right column. I need the table so that every text starts at the same height. But whenever I put the next record command into the second column, everything gets displayed in language2.

Column1 Column2
Row1 «Title» «NextRecord»«Title»
Row2 «Text1» «Text 1»
Row3 «Text2» «Text 2»

Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Thank you!!!

For this to work you would need your data source to have one language as Text1 and the other as Text2, for each record. You can then use a directory merge to merge to a single row two column table, with Text1 in cell1 and Text2 in cell2. Merge to a new document then add any supplementary information to the document. There would be no Next Record field required.

Thank you for your response!

The problem is that I have around 10 languages and 30 text fields per language in the excel file and I always select two languages which should be displayed afterwards right next to each other. That's why I would need the next record field. do you know what I mean? Is there any way to insert a formula saying that column 1 should be linked to language1?
Thanks!!

If you have 30 phrases and 10 languages, you should have thirty records (rows) with ten columns (one for each language) in your data source. Then you can use mail merge as I indicated by inserting the appropriate language fields in each of the cells.
