Default Recipients can not view the inserted object (PDF) from my mail merge document

Using Microsoft 2013 - Word and Outlook

I am trying to send an email merge with 3 inserted objects (PDFs). I can open the PDFs from my word document and from the merged emails in my outbox waiting to send. Once they are transmitted and moved into the sent folder, I can no longer open them. Additionally, the recipients are unable to open them.

I have tried to drag and drop the PDF icon from my folder into my word document and that just opens the PDF adding pages to my mail merge - not what I want since the files can be 400+ pages.

I have tried to insert an object by both creating new and from existing.

What I am doing wrong? I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks!

There is no function in Word's merge to merge PDF attachments. For that you need VBA code, such as http://www.gmayor.com/ManyToOne.htm . One to one mode will allow you to add as many pre-prepared PDFs to your merged messages as you wish - though watch out for e-mail size limits - and emulates a regular merge to e-mail. However this process is not mail merge and requires the data to be in Excel format.

It sounds as though you are inserting links to PDF files. Those links will only work if the recipient has access to the file locations.
