Reopening resets numbered lists
I have a problem with a document created with mail merge. I am able to merge several documents with each document starting with a numbered list starting at 1, but when I save and reopen the file, the second merged document continues with the next number. I.e. document 1 finishes with 5.1 and document two starts with 6.1 although it started with 1.1 before saving (as it should. Could someone help me? Is there a way to save the file so that the list formats are not updated when I open the file?

The simplest solution would be to 'harden' the numbering in the mailmerge main document before executing the merge. You can do that with a simple macro:
Code:
Sub LockNumbers() ActiveDocument.ConvertNumbersToText End Sub
