Default Macro to send from non-default email address

Hi,

I need to send a mail merge (using Word 2010) from an email account that I have permissions set up to send from, but is not my default. I've read around and it seems this is no longer possible with Word 2010, unless you use a macro. Does anyone have a template for this macro that I can use/adapt?

It needs to send an email from xyz@example.com with a subject line and the body of the email needs to contain fields from the Excel spreadsheet, as you'd expect!

Thank you

The simplest way is to temporarily change your default sending account. In Windows Live Mail, for example, you do this via File|Options|Email Accounts. In Outlook, you do the same via File|Account Settings|Account Settings. Although this could be done with a macro, it's not a requirement.

Hi Paul, thanks for your response, but unfortunately I don't have admin permissions to change my default - that's locked down in my company. The macro option just seemed simpler, as my assistant will need to run this and I don't want to add any extra steps to her process, if possible.

Hi k.n.

Even a macro, though, would need to work by changing the default. If you can't change that, you'll be unable to automate the sending.

You could, but that wouldn't change the 'from' email address, which is what I understood you were after.

There's also a discussion re profile configuration that might be of interest for your situation here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/o...0-a9d614a308bc
