how to show identical data once only?
I created a table regarding competition application result with three columns of information, i.e. school name, student name and contestant no. by mail merge function. One school may have nominated more than one students for the competition. Is it possible to show the same school name in a merged cell once only?

Hi heidiau,
You could do this with some field coding. First, insert a field coded as follows at the top of your document: {IF MERGESEQ = 1 {SET School " "}} Then, where your existing mergefield is, replace it with a field coded as follows: {IF{REF School}<> {MERGEFIELD School_Name} {MERGEFIELD School_Name} ""} Finally, insert a field coded as follows at the bottom of your document: {SET School {MERGEFIELD School_Name}} The above assumes your mailmerge field is named 'School_Name' - change it to match the actual field name. Note: The field brace pairs (ie '{ }') for the above example are created in the body of the document via Ctrl-F9 (Cmd-F9 on a Mac) - you can't simply type them or copy & paste them from this message.
