Hopefully this will be the easiest troubleshooting thread posted on here today...
Working in Excel 2010 - Excel Database connection issue for a mail merge doc... the path to the file has changed, so every time I open up the word merge doc and it tries to connect to the excel doc via a SQL statement, I get a connection error and it opens up the Data Link box where I can manually update the path. BUT, it never saves this new path (so I have to do this EVERY time I open the word doc) - I HATE IT ![]() Thanks in advance for any help you can provide... |

Hi lynn,
When you open the document and get the SQL prompt, answer 'No'. Then re-connect the mailmerge to the data source in its new location. Form then on, the new connection will be the default.
