Default Mail Merge Code (Default Display)

Dear All,

I have been having a problem with default view of Microsoft Word Code Display... all the automated links (Mail Merge, Date, web links, check boxes..etc) are displayed in their code form (by Default)... and every time I want to check the actual data I have to press "Shift + F9" this is causing me to fall into errors than insuring accuracy when importing data from the master sheet.
please help.
what I want to accomplish is have the data desplay as the defualt and the code display upon request (Shift + F9)

Below is the sample on how this is displayed

Dear Charles, thank you for your reply, however, I have mentioned that this didnt resolve this problem.
my problem is that the default value is the code, and we I click (Shift +F9) i see the text, however, this is not what I need.
I need the default value to be the text and whenever I want to see the code, I press the (Shift + F9)

As Charles indicated, Alt-F9 toggles the field code display on/off. This affects all fields in the document simultaeneously. It is not the same as what happens when you press Shift-F9, which only toggles the state of an individual field.
