Formatting Merged Time Values Between Excel & Word
I am using Word 2010's mail merge to merge data from an Excel 2010 database into my source document.
The source document includes both time and date fields, both of which are represented in the Excel database with appropriately formatted data. ie times are in h:mm am/pm format, and dates dd-mmm-yy format. In most part, the merging is successful, except for the times. Despite the switch in my time fields {MERGEFIELD "timeon" \@ "h:mm am/pm"}, the resulting display is in decimal form. The dates, are displayed properly. In word, I have "Confirm file format conversion on open." The odd thing, everything works flawlessly when I use these file with Office 2007 on my home computer. I'm assuming something is different between how 2010 and 2007 are handling the data for presentation. Desperate for help. Jenn |
