Mail Merge Function not Noticing 'True' vs. 'False' Statement
Hello - I have been using a mail merge function for some time now that has successfully been doing what I need it to do - then suddenly, it stopped. Please see the attached document for my explanation below to make sense. The attached document is merged with an excel file with each of the merge fields. The function that stopped was when the privacy_flag merge field = true, it is supposed to knock everything else out from that point down to the email. But now regardless if the flag is true or false, it shows the address and pertinent that shouldn't be showing. Anyone have any ideas on this? I'm sure there is some more elegant way to do what I did - but it's homegrown and as knowledgeable as I am. Thanks in advance for any help! Please ask questions if needed, I know I can be confusing. |

Hi danellekent,
Your mailmerge test looks for the word 'true', all in lower case, with no spaces either side, in a data field named 'Privacy Flag'. If the source data differ in any way, or if the data field has been renamed, the test will fail and the 'private' data will be displayed.
