Default Word Merge Fields: IF

I am trying to create merge fields to show the correct terms on a Word contract.

{IF {TERM} = "1 Year" "one (1)" "{IF {TERM} = "3 Year" "three (3)" "{IF {TERM} = "5 Year" "five (5)" "}"}"}

I keep getting this message when it merges:
Error! Unknown op code for conditional

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Merdeka,

As your post refers to merge fields, I've moved the thread to the mailmerge sub-forum. Although you can use an IF test for what you want, you can achieve the same result more simply, via a pair of fields coded as:
{=«Term» \* CardText} ({=«Term» \# 0})

Note: The field brace pairs (ie '{ }') for the above example are created via Ctrl-F9 - you can't simply type them or copy & paste them from this message. Likewise, you can't type or copy & paste the chevrons (ie '« »') - they're part of the actual mergefields, which you can insert from the mailmerge toolbar.
