Default formating a percentage in a Mail Merge

I have an excel data source that is a percentage. I have the following formula {={MERGEFIELD INTEREST_RATE}*100\# 0%}. The outer {} were entered using control F9 and the MERGEFIELD was entered by selecting it from the dropdown under Insert Merge field.

When it is merged the output is { =0.055*100\# 0%}.

Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong?

Hi dkalsow,

The only way I can see that happening is if you have ordinary braces inside the outer pair of field braces.

I am creating it this way <control> <f9>.
Typing =
Insert Merge Field (Interest_Rate)
Typing *100\#0%
After the merge is get
{=5.5*100\#0%}

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Dale

Hi Dale,

Are you actually executing the merge, which outputs all the records at once, or just previewing one record at a time?
