matching fileds in mail merge
Good evening everyone....When I try to match the fields, I only get one option (name) and then the (not matched) option on the drop down menu. How do I get more field options to appear so they can be matched? Thanks in advance! |

Hi estroh,
That suggests you're trying to use Word's 'Address Block' tool. It's not real smart and the output formatting often leaves something to be desired. IMHO, you're better off to insert the desired individual mergefields where you want them to appear.

Yes, I agree, however, I have been successful using the address block in the past, and when matching fields from an excel file have not had this problem. It makes me wonder if somehow my Excel data is not formatted correctly. Ideas? Can't seem to figure it out. Thanks.

Hi estroh,
It could be a number of things, including column headers that Word can't match up with. Without seeing the data, it's hard to say for sure.
