Default "Sumif"Confusion!

Hi all,

I am teaching my self Excel from books and the internet.

In one self test there is the following task...

use a function to total figures in the purchase price column IF the weight is greater than 1

The result is then to be displayed in a cell on a seperate sheet.

On the sales sheet there is a column of figures entitled "purchase price" and a column of figures entitled "weight of items"

I know i need to use a sumif function but what data goes where in the sumif dialogue box?

Any help greatly appreciated

Mark

Hi Mark,

Like this:

=SUMIF(WeightRange,">1",PriceRange)

Have a look at this tutorial for more information.

Hi Colin
Thanks for the reply.

So you can add all the formula directly into the top "Range" box in the "sumif" dialogue box,no need to use "criteria" and "sum Range". or directly to fomulae bar

much appreciated
