hi,
I have an excel file with data,I need to add an Id column and create numbers from 1 to .... (as much as records It has).like autonumber in access. It has already had data,I do not want to enter data for other columns. |

Hi
Please find herewith a solution. I have put an auto number formula in the first 100,000 rows. When you enter a value in each consecutive cell in column B from B2 downwards the number in column 1 will automatically increase by 1 from the previous row. Bear in mind that if you use this you will need to specify which pages to print when you want to print the document or you will end up printing 100,000 rows. Hope this helps. Tony (OTPM) |
