Default Cell content splits

I have two questions:

1. I have number of names in a column. Names are written as First Name space and Surname. (eg. George Washington) How do I split into two columns?. (First name into one cell and Surname into another cell)

2. How do I convert lower case words into uppercase.

Thanks.

Hi Mahen,

If they're only a single given & surname per cell, using Excel's Text-to-Columns tool will do the job. See under Data|Text-to-Columns. Use the space as the delimiter.

For the case conversion, you can use a formula like:
=UPPER(A1)
where the string to be converted is in A1.
