Conditional data validation (list drop-down)
Hi everyone, I am a newbie in the forum. I am struggling to achieve conditional data validation in Excel 2007. Data - Please see attachment. Here is what I want to achieve: Cell 1 - Select estate type - This I have put list using data validation. Cell 2 - Select building type - Based on the selection in the cell above, I want only the corresponding building types to appear in the list dropdown E.g. If Cell 1 - Catering, Cell 2 should show only the relative [Fast Food Restaurants,Public Houses,Restaurants (with Bar), and Restaurants (in Public Houses)] in the list I am aware that it can be done with 'IF' function but as I understand one can have only 7 nested 'IF's and number of estate types is far greater than 7. Please help. Thanks, AK Last edited by click4akshay; 04-28-2011 at 06:13 AM. Reason: additional info |
