![]() have an Excel 2007 file with multiple dropdown lists based on named ranges some of these lists are free available for any choice by all users other lists are predefined on 1 value and should NOT be available for changing How can I block this selection in such a way that users can see the whole list but cannot change the selection (e.g. all values, except the selected item, in enabled values ) ? thanx regards |

I dont fully understand your query, however, have you considered protecting the cells you dont want changed? Hope this helps. Good luck. Tony |

correct
1/ unlock all cells in sheet except cell with predefined list 2/ protect sheet it works ok in this way, except that items of list are enabled (shown in normal black font color rather than disabled in grey) but this is minor reason for not using this technique many thanx |
