Default Help with formula please.

Hello I'm new to the forums and looking for a little help please

I'm trying to figure out a formula for the following.

Lets say I have 400 as the target number.

You get a score of 450, which is 89% for the target of 400.

Now lets say you get a score of 350 ... I'd want that to come out as 100% since it is lower then the target.

hope that makes sense... Thank you !

I would do it with an IF formula. If the score is in A1, then the formula would be:

=IF(A1<400,1,400/A1)

With this formula, if the score is less than 400 the cell will produce a 1 (or 100% if it's formatted to percentage). If the score is greater than 400, the cell will display 400/score (e.g. 400/450 = 0.888889 = 89%).

Hi Andrew,

I'd suggest:
=MIN(1,400/A1)

Even better. I knew there was an easier way to accomplish this but I just could not remember it.
